Biblical Mentorship & Coaching
Mentorship Works!
Mentorship is increasingly being recognized as an essential method for advancing the Kingdom of God. The lifelong, God-initiated quest for spiritual growth among believers is satiated by the oft-cited scripture found in Proverbs 27:17, “iron sharpens iron”. This Scripture highlights the wisdom of refining through intentional relationships. Mentorship is demonstrated by Jesus as a fundamental mechanism of ministry and it is still an integral component for developing effective leaders today. The word “mentorship” may not appear in the Bible, but both the Old Testament and the New Testament contain no shortage of examples, including:
Jethro (mentor) and Moses (mentee)
Moses (mentor) and Joshua (mentee)
Eli (mentor) and Samuel (mentee)
Jesus (mentor) and his disciples (mentees)
Paul (mentor) and Timothy (mentee), Titus (mentee), and Barnabas (mentee)
KTM offers the blessing of “sharpening” through these unique mentorship opportunities:

“Spiritual mentoring is a triadic relationship between mentor, mentee, and the Holy Spirit, where the mentee can be guided to discover, the already present action of God, develop more intimacy with God, and ultimately transform their identity as a child of God.”
"Christian Mentoring is a relational experience in which one person empowers another by sharing God-given resources. A Christian Mentor draws on their own spiritual experience and maturity to walk “the walk” in order to convey that experience to others who are seeking to develop their walk with Jesus to the same or greater degree."
“A Mentor/Discipler is a more experienced follower who imparts to a believer the knowledge, skill, and basics to grow in Christ. A Discipler affects the believer’s character and behavior.”
"A mentor empowers a person to see a possible future and believe it can be obtained." -
"God uses mentors to spark life change and legacy impact."
"A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself. "
